When you create an eMID account, we collect: your name, email, phone number, and any medical information you choose to add to your profile (blood type, allergies, medications, conditions, emergency contacts). You decide what to share — nothing is required.
Your medical data is used solely to:

Your QR code links to a public emergency page accessible without login. This is intentional — first responders need fast access. However, you control exactly what appears on this page in your privacy settings.
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Servers are HIPAA-compliant. We undergo annual third-party security audits.

We use session cookies for authentication only. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels.
We keep your data only as long as your account is active. Once you delete your account, all personal data is permanently erased within 30 days.
Family plans allow parents/guardians to manage profiles for children under 13. Adult consent and supervision is required.
